Monday, August 8 through Wednesday, August 10th, WHAL was pleased to welcome Gail Beam for a second Pastel workshop at Wheatley Center at RMU. Nine students, from beginner to intermediate, explored soft pastels to create beautiful landscapes and floral paintings. This is the last in the series of artist workshops this summer. We are grateful to Robert Morris for the use of their wonderful facility and look forward to offering more workshops next year. On Monday, August 1, members of WHAL addressed participants of the Moon Historical Society at the Municipal Building in Moon. Nancy Bush, one of the founding members of WHAL recalled the history of our art league and how it has evolved over the past 50 years. Art League members shared samples of their artwork in an impromptu exhibit, information about their mediums. They also told how WHAL provides an opportunity to share and learn in the company of other art enthusiasts. |
